EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you
are.” Chauncey Depew
We invite you to take that first step and join us at The Second Half.
The Second Half is a community of learners, teachers, travelers, friends, and potential friends. Our strength is in our membership. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency, which has been providing educational opportunities for the community since 2000. Our students range in age from 55–90 years young. We currently have students from all over the South Coast of Massachusetts and beyond. The locations continue to expand as students enlist their friends and families to join and take advantage of our programming.
We strive to provide the highest level of stimulating courses that are taught by our top-notch, committed, faculty. Their classes are rich, engaging, and enjoyable. We run on a two-semester calendar year. Spring Semester begins in February, with classes beginning in March, April, and May; and the Fall semester begins in September.
Our classes will be run in person and on Zoom. If you have selected a class that will be using Zoom, and you are not familiar with Zoom, not to worry. We will provide support to help you take your class. You do not have to pay to use Zoom.
The Fall Catalog will give you a brief background on the 31 classes that we are providing this Fall: A brief bio of the teachers, locations of classes, dates, and times. I am always available for questions. The Fall season can be a great time to make a change–do something different.
Do Something Good for Yourself.
Robert Melton, Executive Director
Registration Begins August 31, 2023.
